One design for the restoration of the theater calls for covering and painting the seats to make them more comfortable (currently, visitors purchase souvenir cushions for $1.00). The rich art deco styling is preserved in the redesign. This image shows two covering styles, one exposing some of the polished wood, the other completely upholstering the seat. The red color is part of a suggested new color scheme to brighten the theatre. These seats are on display in the theatre lobby.

The restoration of the Chevalier Theatre takes time, money and a great deal of work.
